Thursday's morning meditation is upon Psalm 131. Join us for live lectio divina at 7:30am or spend time in your own private thoughts. Rev. Karen Ballard will encourage us to live abundantly during the Morning Message and will also host a live Lunchtime Chat (12:00pm) for those who wish to engage in further discussion.
For social time, we'll be writing stories together at 4:30pm and then join in worship at 5:00pm. In his last Evening Message, Rev. Gary Pope-Sears exhorts us to give generously. This evening includes the Healing Service, which is a time when individuals can seek prayer for specific needs or challenges they may be facing. Check your e-mail for your prayer group meeting time and don't forget to schedule some time for your own personal prayer. Today is our third day of Community Care and we're creating something to share with those around us.
You can find the full schedule here.
"My heart is not proud, Lord,
my eyes are not haughty;
I do not concern myself with great matters
or things too wonderful for me.
But I have calmed and quieted myself"

In this morning's message, "Live Abundantly," Reverend Karen Ballard reminds us that abundant living isn't the same thing as the "health & wealth" prosperity gospel. Using Mathew 6, Pastor Karen exhorts us to leave behind our assumptions about what abundance might looks like -- clothes, food, and lavish lifestyles-- and instead seek the Kingdom of God. She encourages us to have faith that God will meet our needs by keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus.
Have something to say about Pastor Karen's message? Join us for Lunchtime Chat at 12:00pm or drop a note onto the Padlet below.
In "Share Generously," Rev. Gary Pope-Sears sings the great hymn "Great is Thy Faithfulness" and encourages participants to acknowledge the faithfulness of God and pass along the blessings we've received. Pastor Gary calls this a "Sea of Galilea" life-- one that promotes abundant living by passing goodness along. He invites us to receive grace and share that grace with our neighbors with reverence, whoever they are and wherever they are.
